Terms of Service

Terms for video compression, Credits, subscriptions, PAYG, and file retention.

Ultimo aggiornamento: 2026-07-10

Acceptance and Service

By using VideoCompressor.net, you agree to these Terms. The service accepts supported video files, compresses them in the cloud, and provides a temporary MP4 result using H.264 video, optional AAC audio, yuv420p, and faststart. Results are not permanent storage or public sharing links.

Browser-reported metadata and Credits estimates are provisional. The service rechecks the uploaded media before encoding and may reject unsupported, damaged, audio-only, oversized, over-duration, or infeasible requests.

Accounts, Guest Use, and Limits

You are responsible for your account credentials and activity. Guest sessions are temporary and may be limited by Credits, file size, duration, resolution, concurrent Jobs, upload bytes, IP/session abuse controls, and global service budgets. Creating multiple accounts or manipulating cookies to evade limits is prohibited.

Current limits and entitlements are shown in the product and enforced by the server. A Free Credits balance does not unlock paid file limits or Batch. Batch and 15 GB capabilities require an active eligible subscription or an unexpired PAYG grant with remaining paid Credits.

Credits

Credits represent consumable service usage, not money, stored value, or a transferable asset. Before a Job starts, the service reserves estimated Credits. Authoritative media analysis may result in an additional debit or partial refund. Automatic infrastructure retries and Spot fallback do not charge again.

  • Upload failure, invalid media, unsupported input, infrastructure failure, or output validation failure receives a full Credits refund.
  • Cancellation before processing starts receives a full Credits refund.
  • User cancellation after processing starts generally does not receive a Credits refund because compute has already been consumed.
  • Each Batch child reserves, adjusts, and refunds Credits independently. There is no additional Batch fee.

Credits cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash. Free and subscription Credits expire at the end of their stated grant period. PAYG Credits expire 12 months after purchase. A refund or chargeback may revoke the unused portion of related paid Credits; consumed amounts may require manual review.

Plans, Billing, and Cancellation

Basic, Pro, and Premium subscriptions may be offered monthly or yearly through Stripe. Yearly pricing reflects the displayed discount, while Credits are still granted in monthly cycles rather than all at once. PAYG is a one-time purchase and does not renew automatically.

Subscription cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless law or the checkout terms require otherwise. You retain the current entitlement until that time. Failed renewal may enter a limited grace period; if payment is not resolved, entitlement ends at the stated time. Stripe Customer Portal may be used to manage billing.

Cash refunds are evaluated under applicable law, the payment provider rules, and the circumstances of the charge. Credits refunds for failed Jobs follow the rules above and are separate from cash payment refunds.

File Retention

Input files are scheduled for deletion at Job terminal state and no later than 24 hours after upload. Guest, Free, and PAYG results expire after 7 days; active subscription results expire after 30 days. Batch results use the applicable 7-day or 30-day period from the time the Batch finishes. Failed and temporary outputs are scheduled for immediate deletion. You must download results before expiration.

Acceptable Use

You must own or have permission to process uploaded media. You may not use the service to process unlawful or abusive content, infringe intellectual property or privacy rights, distribute malware, probe or bypass access controls, tamper with object keys or callback data, overload the service, or evade plan and budget limits. We may cancel Jobs or suspend accounts to protect users and infrastructure.

Availability and Results

Compression is computationally variable. We do not guarantee that every input can reach every target size without unacceptable bitrate, or that temporary queue and infrastructure capacity will always be available. We use retries and fallback where appropriate, and provide stable failure states and Credits remedies described above.

Liability and Changes

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited. We may update the service or these Terms; material changes will be reflected by the updated date and appropriate notice.
